If you are looking for something a bit different to do in North Clare, this might be it!

Picture this: the rugged beauty of Ireland's western coastline, framed by the Atlantic's waves, rolling hills, and ancient stone walls. Now imagine capturing it on nothing more than your phone — and actually knowing what you're doing. Start with a short, hands-on lesson covering the phone camera settings, composition and lighting tricks most people never discover, then set off to explore Ballyvaughan village and seafront at your own pace, putting your new knowledge into practice. No fixed route, no one telling you where to point your camera — just you, your phone, and the opportunity to find your own shots. Afterwards, we'll head back together to review your photos over a coffee and scone, and turn your favourite into a postcard that will be posted for you. Led by professional photographer Claire O'Rorke, in the heart of Ballyvaughan village, County Clare.

What to Expect:

This is a small group, hands-on experience with a professional photographer that will introduce you to the often-overlooked features of your mobile phone’s camera. You'll learn how to make the most of settings like focus, exposure, and HDR—tools that will elevate your photography to new heights. Your guide will also teach you the essential rules of composition and lighting, ensuring every shot tells a story.  After mastering the basics, you’ll embark on a short photowalk where you’ll apply your new skills to capture the local scenery and each other in fun portrait sessions. 

Once our photowalk is complete, we’ll retreat to the cozy warmth of a local tearoom to enjoy a scone and a freshly brewed cup of coffee or tea as you dive into creating your very own photo postcard using your favourite photos from the walk. 

You’ll finish up with new knowledge, and a beautiful postcard that will be printed and posted for you.

• €60 per person, Price includes hot beverage, scone and photo postcard
• Our photowalks only run subject to demand and a minimum of 5 participants. To avoid disappointment, please book or contact us in advance to secure your spot and ensure the walk is scheduled!
• This is a guided outdoor experience, so please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Ireland’s skies can be moody but that only adds to the fun we will have!
